The Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites is a 367-foot (112 m), 35-story hotel in Los Angeles, California, constructed between 1974 and 1976. Designed by architect John C. Portman, Jr., it is the largest hotel in the city. The top floor has a revolving restaurant and bar. Encompassing an entire city block in the heart of Los Angeles, the hotel has 1,358 guest rooms and suites and a signature six-story atrium lobby.

The Walter Pyramid, opened on November 30, 1994, is an indoor multi-purpose arena on the campus of California State University, Long Beach in Long Beach, California. Each side of the 18-story Pyramid measures 345 feet (105 m). It was designed by architect Don Gibbs (a CSULB graduate) and built by the Nielsen Construction Company of San Diego. The facility holds 7,000 spectators in a seating system that can be hydraulically raised to expose 39,000 square feet of beechwood flooring for 3 full-court, 6 half-court basketball areas and 5 volleyball areas.
