The Walter Pyramid, opened on November 30, 1994, is an indoor multi-purpose arena on the campus of California State University, Long Beach in Long Beach, California. Each side of the 18-story Pyramid measures 345 feet (105 m). It was designed by architect Don Gibbs (a CSULB graduate) and built by the Nielsen Construction Company of San Diego. The facility holds 7,000 spectators in a seating system that can be hydraulically raised to expose 39,000 square feet of beechwood flooring for 3 full-court, 6 half-court basketball areas and 5 volleyball areas. It also houses a full-service fitness center and The Pointe, an educational conference center. http://tinyurl.com/7mam9nf
